Black Friday 2011

Black Friday 2011

“It’s friday, friday, gotta buy Alexander Wang and Zara on friday.”

Not the real lyrics, but I have a feeling that would improve the song. Maybe.

My two (only two?! such restraint!) purchases from this year’s Black Friday:

1) Zara Ankle Booties – Originally $89.90
Black Friday Price: $39.99
2) Alexander Wang Ankle Booties – Originally $650
Black Friday Price: $75.00

I saved $624.91. Success.

What did you buy on Black Friday?

Items to Be Coveted: Foxy Jeffrey Campbells

Jeffrey Campbell’s Foxy Platform Sandals

“I’m Foxy Cleopatra…. and I’m a WHOLE LOTTA WOMAN!”

Like Beyonce’s character from Austin Powers’ Goldmember, this platform is a whole lotta shoe. Towering above the ground with a five and a half inch heel, and a two inch platform, this shoe takes sandals to a new height.

This shoe is the perfect 70’s style addition for any closet.

The Foxy Platform comes in a wide range of colors, textures (suede, sparkled, etc) and prices ($90-$145).

Back to School Wardrobe

School is almost back in session which means we all could use a boost in our wardrobe to carry our looks from summer to fall. While the beginning of the year means awkwardly making your way into layers and heavy clothing from short shorts and tanks, these five tips from Bloomingdales’ Trend Forecaster, Stephanie Solomon, will help you ease into fall:

1) Care For Some Tea? (Lady-like Blouses):

2) Drop It Low (Longer Skirts):

3) Taste the Rainbow (Colored Jeans):

4) Be Real or Fake (Fur That Is):

5) Mad Hatter:

Versace x H&M

The recently announced, and highly anticipated, collaboration between Versace and H&M will not disappoint. Like previous H&M collaborations, this collection won’t come cheap but saving up to purchase a few of the 40+ pieces sounds like a brilliant idea.

“The womenswear collection will be dominated by dresses that express the spirit of the season, featuring studded leather, silk and colorful prints, and accessories including high heels and costume jewelry.”- H&M

Review: Alice+Olivia Floral Dress

Alice+Olivia Floral Dress

Detail of the print:

Flower Power!

I don’t think I could love this dress more than I do now! It’s retro-fantastic!
This dress is like combing Andy Warhol’s famous floral prints with 1950s housewife couture!

(A.k.a the best combo ever!)
